2. Email and phone all your friends about the petition.

3. PALM CARDS NEW! Click here to get a printable sheet of hand-out cards to inform people about the MaineImpeach petition campaign. Download this sheet, print it, and make copies of it onto card-stock (heavy paper). Cut each sheet into 8 cards (or have your printer do it) and hand the cards out to every Maine person you meet. Great conversation starters! Try asking "Do you like George Bush?" and when you get "NO!" for an answer, hand out a card.

4. Contribute to the AD campaign. NEW! We want ads in the Portland, Bangor, Brunswick, Augusta, Lewiston, Waterville and York County newspapers. Your donation can make this advertising happen. Write your check to "(Maine Veterans for Peace) MVFP/Impeach" and mail it to:

If you can't afford to contribute, please phone 5 friends, tell them about MaineImpeach.org and urge them to sign the on-line petition. Please tell them to phone 5 of THEIR friends. Numbers are crucial. Networking makes the numbers happen.

Petition Drive Guidelines
MAKE IT FUN!

• Go in groups and fan out
• Go to special events in your area
• Other good spots: mall parking lots, post office sidewalks, transfer stations ( "Dump Bush" sites)
• Be prepared: Carry petitions in your car at all times
• Carry Palm cards - they help petition signers to spread the word via email

Good Opener: “Have you heard about the petition to impeach Bush and Cheney?”

1. Ask if they’ve already signed.

2. We do not need actual signatures on the paper petitions - we just want a neatly printed full name. Check it over. We need to be able to read their name and put it in our database.

3. Husband and wife should each put their name on the sheet separately so they count as two names.

4. We absolutely need to have the town they live in, and zip code.Try to get their street address. Most people will give it. Note: it should be the street address where they live - NOT a PO Box #.

5. If a person does not want to give their, phone # or email address, that is OK, but we really need to know their town and zip code (makes using the information easier).

6. Be sure all the information is legible! Go over it with the signer to be sure.

7. Email address and phone # are optional, but necessary if people want to get involved and help the Campaign.

8. Be sure to mail the form to the address on the bottom of the form. If it doesn't get mailed to us, it doesn't get included.

9. Some copies of the petition have a scrtached-in address on the bottom,which isn’t right. Send petitions to: Maine Campaign to Impeach, P.O.Box 5346, Portland, Me. 04101, or to the address on the printable form on the website (www.MaineImpeach.org).

10.The people putting their names on the petition need to be residents of Maine. This is personal information and must be kept in a safe place - do not lose them!

Talking Points:

• The Maine Campaign to Impeach consists is an all-volunteer grassroots group of people from all walks of life.
• The goal is to get 10,000 signatures to present to the State Legislature and Congressional Representatives, demanding that they endorse a Resolution to Impeach Bush and Cheney and begin investigations.
• It only takes one Member of the House to introduce Articles of Impeachment and begin the investigations.
• Over 7,000 people have signed on already
• We hope to have our goal by mid-May.
